punters concentrates upon horse riding also

Kakinada: All equestrians in East Godavari district and the neighbouring districts gathered at T Timmapuram village of Tuni mandal here on Sunday.
During the festive month of January, all the punters are occupied with betting on cockfighting, ram fighting and pig fighting, with their gaze now falling upon horse riding. The punters gathered in large numbers in the village for the same, posing a difficulty for the police to control the public.
The horse, once a common mode of transportation for our ancestors, is now regarded to be a prestigious commodity. All the horse lovers who gathered here displayed their breed of horses. Many people from the surrounding villages assembled here to watch the horses ride across a dusty track.
The organisers of the event arranged cloth tents and chairs to sit and watch the horses while they galloped. Nearly 30 horses from different districts participated in the riding competitions.
