Asserting that the YSR Congress Party will contest the next general elections on its own, YSR Congress Party leader and retired IG Shaik Mohammed Iqbal on Wednesday charged the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and TDP leaders with spreading canards that YSRCP would ally with the BJP.

YSRCP was a secular party and several leaders were joining it as it stood by principles, Mr. Iqbal told the media in Kurnool.

The CM’s overzealous propaganda that the State achieved a double digit growth by inflating the statistics and seeking the Centre’s assistance on the other hand, jeopardised the State interests, he alleged.
