Naidu announced a hike in the salaries for anganwadi teachers

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced a hike in the salaries for anganwadi teachers from 7,000 to 10,500 and from 4,500 to 6,000 for helpers.

Mr. Naidu said smart phones would be provided to 4.62 lakh ‘Sadhikara Mitra’ volunteers, in an interaction with them at Praja Vedika near his residence on Wednesday. He asserted that the Sadhikara Mitra volunteers play a crucial role in the implementation of welfare schemes and the government intended to ensure that the welfare schemes reached the targeted sections irrespective of their political leanings.

The CM said a sum of 4,800 crore was released for augmenting the infrastructure in schools and that the number of eggs being distributed to students would be increased from three to five in a week.

Mr. Naidu said each Sadhikara Mitra would cater to 35 families and were expected to coordinate with 25 departments for taking the welfare schemes forward.Participating in the discussion through videoconference from Anantapur, Women and Child Development Minister P. Sunitha thanked the CM for increasing the emoluments to anganwadi teachers and helpers.
