e-Tender procedure to implement in APSRTC

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) would implement e-Tender procedure henceforth to maintain transparency in purchases made by the corporation, said executive director (engineering) A Koteswara Rao here on Friday.
Speaking to the media, he said that following the instructions issued by Vice-Chairman and Managing Director NV Surendra Babu they would make purchases through e-Tender process. He said that MSTC e-Commerce portal would be used for making e-Tender purchases.
Executive director G Jaya Rao said they would buy about 136 buses through e-Tender for the first time. He informed the contractors to go through the procedure, rules and regulations and follow e-Tender process henceforth.He said that till now the APSRTC was spending about Rs 3,000 crore for purchasing new buses, spare parts, tyres and oils by following the general tender processes till now, he added.
