When the Parliament is in session, the Telugu Desam Party MPs make it a point to fight for the cause of AP issues in novel ways. With differences between TDP and BJP reaching a flash point, the TDP MPs protested outside Parliament against the Modi government’s indifference to AP’s needs. Chittoor MP Shiva Prasad came to Parliament in the style of Janapada artist Vanga Pandu and singing country songs.

Shiva Prasad appealed to Modi to implement all the promises he has been making to the people of AP with immediate effect as AP badly needs such help right now. The injustice caused at the time of bifurcation of the State has caused residual AP a lot of damage which can be repaired only with special status and other bifurcation promises.

On his part, Srikakulam MP Rammohan Naidu took up a protest Deeksha without celebrating his birthday and he demanded that Modi grant his wish for fulfilment of promise of railway zone for the north coastal Andhra. He started his deeksha at the Gandhi statue in the Parliament and he vowed to continue the same till the conclusion of the session. The other TDP MPs expressed solidarity to Rammohan Naidu and raised slogans in support of the demand for special status, railway zone and so on.

Rammohan Naidu said if Modi wants to give any gift to him on his birthday, it should be the gift of railway zone. He asserted TDP protests had an impact that led to BJP defeat in three northern states.
