New paddy purchasing centres

Kakinada : Joint Collector said that 284 paddy purchasing centres will begin from October 1.
DCO and marketing department officials on paddy purchasing centres, in his chamber at the Collectorate on Thursday, the joint collector said that the government would pay minimum support price for farmers through 284 paddy purchasing centres.
He asked the farmers not to trust the brokers. He said the government will buy paddy from 61 centres, 208 centres though Primary Agricultural Credit Societies,15 centres through District Cooperative Marketing Societies.
Jc said paddy was cultivated in 2,23,926 hectares of land. He hoped that 10,95,838 metric tonnes of paddy were expected to come to market.
He said for grade A kind of paddy, Rs1,590 would be given per quintal and for 75 kg of same grade, Rs 1192.50 would be paid.
He told for normal kind of paddy Rs1,550 would be paid and for 75 kg of same normal kind paddy Rs 1,162.50 would be paid.
